About the Sakhal map
Sakhal is the official Frostline map, a frozen archipelago of around 268 square kilometers made up of icy coastlines, a volcanic center, snowbound settlements and isolated military zones. Cold-weather survival is the core challenge here: temperature, frozen water, wind and limited safe routes make Sakhal feel very different from the warmer official maps.

The largest military complex on Sakhal and the island's endgame loot stop — the best weapons, armour and military gear. Remote and cold, so plan your warmth before the run, not after.
Volcanic hot springs and geyser fields warm you up without a fire — a lifeline on a freezing map. But some vents leak toxic gas, so approach carefully and keep a gas mask handy near the worst clusters.
Petropavlovsk-Sakhalskiy
The main coastal town and a key early-game stop for food, warm clothing and basic gear before you push inland. Higher population means more loot, but also more contact with other survivors.
Rudnogorsk
A nickel-mining and industrial town in the interior — good for tools, industrial loot and a sheltered place to warm up between objectives.
Surviving Sakhal
Cold is the real enemy
Your body heat drains constantly and blizzards make it worse. Dry, warm layers, a reliable fire kit and frequent warm-ups are not optional — hypothermia will kill you long before the infected do.
Heat sources: fire, hot springs, shelter
Fireplaces, indoor stoves and the geothermal hot springs all restore warmth. Stay out of the wind, dry your clothes by a fire, and use the springs as natural waypoints — just watch for toxic gas at some geysers.
A small island — sea, ice and exposure
Sakhal is compact, so players concentrate and routes are short — but the open, treeless stretches leave you exposed to both snipers and the wind. Move ridge-to-ridge and keep a warm-up point in reach.

- Top-tier weapons & military gear: Vostok military base and the other military areas inland.
- Warm clothing, food & medical: the coastal towns (Petropavlovsk-Sakhalskiy, Yuzhnoye) and their shops and clinics.
