About the Namalsk map
Namalsk, created by Sumrak (Adam Francu), is one of the most famous and most punishing community maps in DayZ. Set on an abandoned, post-Soviet Aleutian island of around 30 square kilometers of playable land, it is small but dense: narrow passages, exposed ice fields and deliberately scarce loot turn most key locations into natural chokepoints, so players meet each other far sooner than on Chernarus.
The Namalsk Survival mod adds the harsh layer the map is known for - snowstorms, EVR storms, frostbite and a cold-resistance soft skill - so the weather itself is an enemy. Early survival around Vorkuta, Jalovisko and Sebjan is about warmth, fire, dry clothing and food before anything else. The late game centers on the Athena A1/A2/A3 research sites, the Phoenix Oil Rig and the journey to Lantia, using the LEHS Mk3 suit, the NAC Access Card and the Pulsar Locator.
Use this interactive Namalsk map to plan loot routes, find military and research sites, and prepare for the island's hazards. Search for items like NBC gear, NAC Access Card or Pulsar Locator, toggle marker layers, and measure distances with the ruler. Exact spawns vary by server, but the map shows the likely vanilla locations.
Key locations on Namalsk
A small, brutal island chain where cold, storms and a tight loot economy force constant movement. These are the spots that matter most.
A central settlement and natural crossroads — useful for early gear, orientation and routing between the island's north and south. Expect player traffic because almost everything funnels through the middle.
The eastern island and harbour, tied to the Athena underground and the endgame route. It also holds the island's largest medical complex — the best place to gather NBC suits, gas masks and antidotes. High-value but exposed and far from spawns, so it rewards prepared, warm and well-armed survivors.
One of the largest military zones on the island — the main source of weapons, armour and military gear away from the endgame structures. Cold and contested, so move in and out fast.
A western town with residential and industrial loot — a practical place to grab warm clothing, food and basics before heading for the military zones or Tara Island.
The wrecked submarine out on the far northern ice. Swim out from a coastal dock — light a fire afterwards to dry off and avoid freezing — and search the bunks and shelves for the NAC access card, one of the two keys to Lantia. Military zombies patrol the area, and if the card has not spawned, loot everything and come back later.
A surface research building and a key stop on the Lantia quest. Take the stairs down to the back rooms for military loot and — if it has spawned — the Lantia pulsar locator, one of the two items needed to open the secret area. If it is not there, loot the building and check back later.
The offshore oil rig out on the far eastern ice — home to the 3D printer that crafts the LEHS Mk3 protective suit you need to survive Lantia. It leaks toxic gas, so come with a gas mask / NBC gear and an antidote, and bring a large (120-slot) backpack — the printed suit is bulky and you have only seconds to grab it before the gas reaches you.
One of the Athena underground facilities. In its beam room a console lets you aim the EVR portal — press the button while a blowout storm is active to direct it toward A3, then head to the portal on the nearby snowy hilltop. It is pitch black inside, so bring a head torch, NVG or at least a flare or glowstick.
Surviving Namalsk & the Lantia endgame
Extreme cold & frostbite
The Namalsk Survival mod adds cold resistance and frostbite, so warmth management is constant: warm layers, fires and shelter are survival gear, not luxuries. Wet clothing freezes you fast.
EVR blowout storms
Namalsk's signature event: periodic electromagnetic "blowout" storms sweep the island. Get indoors or underground before one hits — being caught in the open during an EVR can knock you out or kill you. A muon detector (it beeps) or an APSI helmet (a visual cue) warns you earlier than normal, which is invaluable both for survival and for timing the Athena portals.
The Athena reactor, beam rooms & orbs
The Athena facilities are linked by glowing orbs. At A2 you press the beam-room console during an EVR storm to aim the portal at A3, then ride the orb on the snowy hilltop. At A3 the reactor and flax control panel generate the final portal to Lantia — when the reactor spins up, the orb is stabilised and will take you across. Getting out of A3 again has a few options: with the modules, by riding an internal orb during an EVR (risky — it can drop you anywhere on the map), or through a maze exit whose ladder drops you into water (you cannot climb back up that way). Bring a head torch or NVG — the facilities are pitch black.
The LEHS suit & the Phoenix 3D printer
Lantia is lethal without the LEHS Mk3 protective suit. You print it at the Phoenix oil rig's 3D printer from three filaments (ABS, TPC and Nylon), the LEHS Mk3 blueprint and a NAC access card. The rig leaks toxic gas, so wear NBC/gas-mask gear, carry an antidote and bring a large backpack — the suit is bulky. To be fully functional the suit also needs an O2 tank and a battery (found in Athena-3 / Lantia); without them you cannot stray far from the orb after you arrive.
The Phoenix printer & its 3 filaments
The Phoenix oil rig's 3D printer needs three filaments — ABS, TPC and Nylon — plus the LEHS Mk3 blueprint and a NAC access card to print the suit. The picture shows the printer's load slots: access modules, blueprints and the three filament spools.
Where to find the modules for A3
This overview map marks the key spots for the Lantia run — where to find the modules and keys you need for A3 and the portal: the SKAT-12 submarine, the Athena facilities and the Phoenix oil rig. Use it to plan the shortest route across the island.
The Lantia run, step by step
Namalsk's real objective: reach the top-secret island of Lantia ("A4"). Get the NAC access card from the SKAT-12 submarine and the Lantia pulsar locator from the Athena Research Institute, print the LEHS Mk3 suit at the Phoenix oil rig, then go to A2 and press the beam-room button during an EVR storm to aim the portal. Ride the orb on the snowy hilltop to A3, attach the card and locator at the flax control panel (Tab) and enable flax power (F) to open the portal to Lantia. You only get a couple of minutes there — grab the armored vest, EMAC flow controller and APAC surge module, then leave. How long the portal stays open depends on the modules you attach: card + locator ≈ 2:20, + EMAC flow controller ≈ 3:05, + the EMAC phased flow controller ≈ 7:15 (but you die when it closes, no matter what). Bring a muon detector or APSI helmet to time the storms, a light source for the dark A2/A3, and ideally a team.
NAC access card
Found in the SKAT-12 submarine on the northern ice. One of the two keys to Lantia, and it also enables the flax power supply at Athena-3. Reusable.
Lantia pulsar locator
Found in the Athena Research Institute. It sets the A3→Lantia link and the proper exit point in Lantia — essential, and reusable.
EMAC flow controller
Attach it at the Athena-3 flax panel to extend how long the Lantia portal stays open. One use; the rarer "phased" version extends it even further.
APAC surge module
Found in Lantia. At the Athena panel it triggers or extends an EVR sequence — useful for timing the portals — and it is reusable.
Where to loot on Namalsk
- Top-tier weapons & military gear: the central and coastal military areas, and the Athena / Tara Island structures.
- NBC suits, gas masks & antidotes: medical buildings — the large medical complex on Tara is the best source — needed for the toxic gas at the Phoenix oil rig.
- Warm clothing, food & basics: the towns (Sebjan, Norinsk, Lubjansk, Nemsk) and their residential blocks.
- Industrial gear, tools & filaments: the harbour, factories, the Phoenix oil rig and the mining/industrial sites.
- Search the map for an item to see where its loot zones overlap on Namalsk.
Survival & route tips
- Solve warmth first: warm clothing and a fire kit come before anything else on Namalsk.
- Track the EVR storms — head for cover or underground the moment the sky and audio warn you.
- The map is small and loot is scarce, so movement and timing beat camping — keep relocating.
- Before attempting Lantia, print the LEHS Mk3 suit at the Phoenix oil rig — and bring NBC gear, an antidote and a large (120-slot) backpack for the rig's toxic gas first.
- The NAC card and Lantia pulsar locator are rare and may not spawn on the first try — expect several runs and stash your gear between sessions. You swim out to the submarine, so dry off at a fire afterwards and watch for the military zombies patrolling it.
- Timing matters: press the A2 beam-room button while an EVR storm is active, but at A3 wait for the storm to end before generating the portal. Portal time also scales with modules — card + locator ≈ 2:20, + EMAC flow controller ≈ 3:05, + the phased controller ≈ 7:15 — so plan what you can grab.

Namalsk DayZ map guide and FAQ
What does this DayZ Namalsk map show?
This interactive Namalsk map shows one of the best-known DayZ community maps: frozen islands, Vorkuta, Sebjan, Tara Island, SKAT-12, Phoenix Oil Rig, Athena A1/A2/A3 areas and the endgame route toward Lantia. Use it for route planning, loot searches, survival planning and Lantia preparation.
How big is the Namalsk map in DayZ?
Namalsk is smaller and denser than the large official DayZ maps, often described around 30 km2 of playable island terrain. Its cold weather, scarce loot, narrow routes, sea ice and busy military points make it feel much more intense than a large open map.
Why is the Namalsk map so popular?
Namalsk is popular because it mixes classic DayZ survival with cold weather, EVR storms, frostbite, scarce loot, strong PvP routes and sci-fi endgame content. Players search for warmth, food, fire, NBC gear, LEHS Mk3 parts and Lantia items, not only better weapons.
What are the most important locations on Namalsk?
Important Namalsk locations include Vorkuta, Jalovisko, Lubjansk, Sebjan Dam, Tara Island, Tara Harbor, BK-M06, BK-T12, SKAT-12, Phoenix Oil Rig, Athena Research Institute, Athena-1, Athena-2 and Athena-3. These include early survival towns, military routes, industrial areas and Lantia endgame objectives.
Can I use this map for Namalsk servers?
Yes. Use the Namalsk map to plan routes on vanilla and modded Namalsk servers. Exact loot can vary by server because many communities use custom economy settings, but the vanilla spawn and loot zone data gives a useful baseline for where to search.
How do coordinates help on Namalsk?
Coordinates help share meeting points, fire or base spots, dangerous crossings, military targets, Phoenix Oil Rig routes and Athena routes. On Namalsk, bad weather, snow and limited landmarks make precise coordinates especially useful.
How do I survive the cold and EVR storms on Namalsk?
Cold is a real threat on Namalsk. Keep clothes dry, find gloves, boots and headgear, build fires and use the heat buff before long travel. Frozen or cold food can be risky when you are already in bad condition. During EVR storms, find cover; if you are on the Lantia route, timing the A2 button matters.
How do I find items and vanilla spawn points on the Namalsk map?
Use the Namalsk item search on this site: type an item name such as NAC Access Card, Lantia Pulsar Locator, NBC Jacket, NBC Hood, Gas Mask, Nylon Filament, ABS Filament, TPC Filament, Pipe Wrench or Lantia Plate Carrier. The map shows possible vanilla spawn points and loot zones. It does not guarantee the item on every server, but it shows where to search from baseline Namalsk data.
How do you get to Lantia on Namalsk?
Lantia is Namalsk endgame content. The route usually involves survival gear, NBC gear, NAC Access Card, Lantia Pulsar Locator and the LEHS Mk3 suit. Phoenix Oil Rig matters because it is tied to the LEHS Mk3 printer/craft path. From there the route moves through Athena-2, Athena-1, Athena-3 and finally toward Lantia, but exact item availability can vary by server.
What is LEHS Mk3 and what is the Phoenix Oil Rig printer for?
LEHS Mk3, the Lantia Expeditionary Hazard Suit Mk3, is protective gear tied to Lantia. Players often call the Phoenix Oil Rig machine a 3D printer because it is used to create the suit from required parts. Search for Nylon Filament, ABS Filament, TPC Filament, Pipe Wrench or NBC gear on the map to see possible vanilla spawn points.
Why do I need to press the A2 button during EVR?
The button or control panel in A2 can only be used during an EVR storm. Pressing it stabilizes the portal process and opens the route toward Athena-1. If the process is not stabilized in A2, the teleport may not follow the proper portal route and can drop the player at a random point on Namalsk.
Which Namalsk places matter for Lantia and better loot?
For Lantia and better loot, key places include SKAT-12, Phoenix Oil Rig, Athena-2, Athena-3, Tara Island, BK-T12, BK-M06 and military or research sites. Vorkuta and northern towns are better for early survival, while southern and endgame locations bring rarer items, higher risk and more player traffic.
