About the Banov map
Banov is a detailed community map and one of the first DayZ terrains inspired by the real Slovak landscape. It covers roughly 256 square kilometers of authentic Central European countryside: one city, around 35 villages, two water reservoirs, a large airport, two smaller airfields and a mix of dense forests, swamps and rivers.
What sets Banov apart are its secrets - hidden locations scattered across the terrain and four large underground complexes tied to the map's storyline. Use this interactive Banov map to plan routes between settlements like Banovce, Krasna and Slatina, scout the airfields and reservoirs, search for any item by name, toggle marker and loot layers, and measure distances with the built-in ruler.
Key locations on Banov
A 256 km² Slovak countryside of one city, dozens of villages, military airfields, reservoirs and a real castle. Click a place to jump straight to it on the map.
The map's only proper city and its main loot hub, modelled on the real Slovak town. Apartment blocks, shops, industry and a hospital make it dense in civilian and medical gear — and a natural draw for player traffic, so move carefully.
The second-largest settlement, sitting beside a small airfield and the Congregation lake. A good central gear-up town with hangars nearby for a step up to military loot, away from the bigger crowds in the city.
The map's large airport: hangars, a radar, a control building and a terminal, ringed by a wide military area. It is the top-tier military loot run on Banov — and the busiest PvP magnet, so expect a fight. Two smaller airfields (near Alica and in the east) spread the risk.
A ruined hilltop castle in the far east, modelled on the real Uhrovec castle. A scenic landmark and a strong vantage point over the eastern valleys — handy for orientation and for watching the roads below.
One of the two large water reservoirs (Vodná nádrž Prusy). Open water and dams break up the countryside, shape travel routes and give a clear landmark — but the exposed shoreline leaves you visible from a long way off.
What makes Banov different
Four underground complexes
Banov's signature feature: four large, deeply hidden underground complexes tied to the map's storyline. Their entrances are concealed across the terrain and the tunnels run far below the surface, holding the best rewards and the map's mysteries. Finding and clearing them is a team objective — bring light and watch your back in the dark.
Border crossings & rural routes
The map edges are dotted with old border crossings and checkpoints. They make natural chokepoints and route markers across a large rural map where roads wind between fields and forest, so they are worth knowing for both travel and ambushes.
Real Slovak terrain
Banov is built on a real-world Slovak heightmap, so navigation feels authentic: rolling hills, river valleys, swamps and big stretches of farmland and forest. Travel is long and line-of-sight changes constantly — plan vehicle routes and use the distance ruler above for crossings.
Where to loot on Banov
- Best loot: the main airport and the underground complexes; smaller airfields near Alica and in the east.
- Civilian gear, food & medical: Banovce nad Bebravou and the larger villages.
- Quiet early-game loot: the southern villages (Krasna, Slatina, Timoradza) and scattered farms.
- Search the map for an item to see which loot zones it belongs to on Banov.
Survival & route tips
- It is a big rural map — plan vehicle routes and use the distance ruler above for long crossings.
- Gear up in the quiet southern villages before pushing the airport or the underground complexes.
- The main airport is the biggest PvP magnet: approach from cover and scout from a hill or viewpoint first.
- Explore — Banov hides caves, secret spots and four underground complexes that reward local knowledge.
Search the map for these
Type any of these into the search box on the interactive map above to find the item and see which loot zones it spawns in (exact loot can vary by server):

Banov DayZ map FAQ
What does this Banov DayZ map show?
This interactive map shows Banov, a detailed custom DayZ community map and one of the first terrains inspired by the real Slovak landscape, with villages, farmland, dense forests, swamps, rivers and rolling hills. You can zoom, pan and inspect towns, roads and terrain to plan routes, bases, loot runs and server events.
How big is the Banov map in DayZ?
Banov covers roughly 256 square kilometers of Slovak-inspired countryside, with 1 city, around 35 villages, 2 water reservoirs, 1 large airport and 2 smaller airfields. The mix of open farmland, dense forests and wetlands gives long travel routes and plenty of room for survival, PvP and base building.
Why do players like the Banov map?
Banov is popular because it offers a realistic rural European setting that feels different from the official maps, plus its own surprises: hidden locations scattered across the terrain and four large underground complexes tied to the map's storyline. Authentic Slovak villages, field-and-forest terrain and dynamic weather make navigation and base placement more about local knowledge than memorized vanilla spawns.
What are the most important locations on Banov?
Key Banov locations include the main city and larger settlements such as Banovce, Krasna, Slatina, Trebichava, Horne Ozorovce and Velke Drzkovce, plus the large airport, two smaller airfields, two water reservoirs, many villages, border crossings and the hidden underground complexes. These places are useful for navigation, loot planning and predicting player traffic.
Can I use this map to find or play on Banov servers?
Yes. Use the Banov map to plan your route, then browse DayZ servers running Banov on the launcher site. Banov is a community-made map, so you will mostly find it on modded survival, PvP, PvE, trader, roleplay and base-building servers.
How do the coordinates on this Banov map work?
The coordinate panel follows your cursor over the Banov map and lets you copy the current position. This is useful when sharing meeting points, base locations, event areas or admin reports with other DayZ players.
